Ta Cu & Ke Ga

Tà Cú Mountain – the largest reclining Buddha statue in Southeast Asia

Tà Cú Mountain is 649 meters high and is located west of the city of Phan Thiết, in Bình Thuận Province. There is a approximately 2 km long route from the foot of the mountain to the peak, but a more popular way to get to the top is via a 1,600 meter long cable car. At an altitude of 563 meters there are two pagodas: the Upper Pagoda (Linh Sơn Trường Thọ) and the Lower Pagoda (Long Đoàn). However, the mountain is best known as the site of the Reclining Buddha statue, which at 49 meters long is the largest reclining Buddha in Southeast Asia.

In the 1870s and 1880s, a Buddhist monk named Tran Huu Duc led a group of Buddhist faithful in the construction of the Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda. After his death in 1887, a group of his followers built the Lower Long Doan Pagoda. Then in 1958, a man named Truong Dinh Tri began construction of a reclining Buddha 49 meters long and seven meters high, as well as three additional smaller Buddha statues.

From the top of the mountain there is a beautiful view of dragon fruit farms and rice fields, and when the weather is clear and there are no clouds, you can see the ocean.

Kê Gà Lighthouse – the oldest lighthouse in Vietnam attracting tourists and adventure seekers

Kê Gà Lighthouse stands on a rocky islet in the South China Sea, off the coast of Kê Gà. Its prime location offers stunning views of the coast and sparkling waters that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Built in 1897 by the French architect Snavat, Kê Gà Lighthouse stands 65 meters above sea level. It features a remarkable 35-meter granite lamp tower that serves as an essential navigational aid to control maritime traffic in the area.

At the top of the lighthouse, visitors can enjoy unforgettable panoramic views of the sea and sky. Especially at sunset, the spectacle is enhanced by a wonderful display of vivid colors. During the dry season and when the tide is low, you can even walk by foot to the island.
